What is emu oil?
Emu oil is a natural oil rendered from the fat of the emu, a large flightless bird native to Australia. It has been used for skin and body care for thousands of years and has one of the most natural fatty acid profiles in cosmetics, similar to the oils naturally produced by human skin.
What's in Amaroo Naturals emu oil?
100% Fully Refined Emu Oil (INCI: Dromaius novaehollandiae oil). That’s the entire ingredient list. No fragrance, no preservatives, no carrier oils, no additives.
What does “fully refined” mean?
Fully refined emu oil has been processed to pharmaceutical-grade clarity. It’s colorless, nearly odorless, and shelf-stable. Most emu oil on the market is partially refined and has a visible yellow color and detectable animal odor. Our fully refined version is cleaner, more pleasant to use, and has a longer shelf life.
What’s the shelf life?
Unopened bottles have a shelf life of 24 months when stored properly (cool, dry, out of direct sunlight). Once opened, we recommend using within 12 months for best quality.
Is your emu oil Alpha-Gal Safe?
Yes. Emu is a bird, not a mammal, so emu oil does not contain any mammal ingredients. Beyond that, our oil is processed in a facility that is completely mammal free.
We still recommend patch testing before regular use, especially if you have severe AGS.
How do I use emu oil?
A few drops is all you need. Warm 2 to 3 drops between your fingers and press into clean skin. Use it on face, body, scalp and hair ends, after sun, shaving, or wind exposure.
Will it make my skin oily?
Despite being an oil, refined emu oil absorbs cleanly and doesn’t leave a heavy or greasy finish. Most people find it absorbs faster than other facial oils.

Drop
Squeeze 2 to 3 drops of emu oil into your hand and warm it between your fingers. A little goes a long way.
